TRAFFIC CALMING & PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS

Nothing is more important to ACL Civil than the safety of our community. We are immensely proud of assisting with several traffic calming projects to ensure physical design and other measures to improve safety for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists. We aim to encourage safer, more responsible driving and potentially reduce traffic flow in the following ways;

Lane narrowings can be created by extending sidewalks, adding bollards or planters, or adding a bike lane or on-street parking

• Curb extensions (also called bulbouts) narrow the width of the roadway at pedestrian crossings
• Chokers are curb extensions that narrow roadways to a single lane at certain points
• Pedestrian crossings or small islands in the middle of the street can help reduce lane widths.
• We will go out of our way to make sure your project is delivered to the highest specifications.
